I'm Anna V. Eskamani, the progressive Democrat who's running for Mayor of Orlando. I'm the daughter of Iranian immigrants, a nonprofit professional, and I proudly represent Orlando in the Florida State House.

This is the first open Mayor's race since 2003. Let me put that in perspective for you: The last open election was four years before the release of the first iPhone, five years before President Obama - and when I was only 13 years old. 

So ***** it's past time for a new generation of leadership - and I'll be ready on day one. I started my career at Planned Parenthood and I took everything I learned there to the Florida state house, where I've fought for policy that leaves no one behind. 

I'm running for Mayor because I'm not scared of a fight. I will use every tool in City Hall to advocate for reproductive rights, protect democracy and fight for working families. 

But the far-right MAGA special interests that don't have Florida's best interests in mind will spare no expense to tear down my people-powered movement. So I have to ask:
